I was puttering around this morning thinking about what I wanted to blog about today....nothing was really hitting me. As I sat down to have breakfast and have a moment of peace before the day started, I had a moment of reflection over the past couple of weeks. It has been crazy....busy, but exciting. But I was thinking about a group of ladies I spoke to this past Friday.
That night was really special for us all. For me it signified a stake in the ground that declared the past 14 years weren't for nothing. Mistakes made, failures and foibles, wrong choices, bad decisions.....it wasn't for nothing. As I shared from my pain and revealed the scars left behind after deep wounds that were sometimes self inflicted, I became a conqueror.
The apostle Paul tells us in Romans chapter eight that we are more than conquerors. I love that he says "we are more than".....to me that means the great apostle couldn't think of anything greater than a conqueror, so he was relegated to just saying "more than". We are more than!!!
Standing there on Friday night, sharing my story, was like firing a blazing arrow into the camp of the devil. For so long I believed his lies, I fell for his traps, I bought into his deceit and I invested in his misdirected guidance. But a year ago, I know God released me from that bondage when I truly let go and walked away from that life. Friday night was my return to the enemy's camp and I took back what he stole from me.....my purpose, my passion, my calling, my power, my strength, my zeal, my life abundant. And it felt great -- I stood in that place and felt like a conqueror....no, more than a conqueror!
Let me encourage you today to do whatever it takes to fight through what is holding you back, bogging you down or taking you under. Make it a priority to fight back with every step, every breath, every fiber of your heart and soul....fight back. Because you have already been declared a victor. You've been named a conqueror....no, more than a conqueror. You've already won. So don't stop. Don't give up.
Someone needs you to fight. Someone needs you to make it through so that you can look back and pull them along behind you. There is someone watching you to see if you can do it....because if you can, they can. Keep up the fight...dont' give in or give up. Don't let the devil win! Don't let him be the liar, the thief, the destroyer any longer. Get up and with all that you have in you stand. You don't stand alone. You don't fight alone.
When you take back what the enemy stole from you, be it your security, your innocence, your safety, your identity, your family, your trust, your faith, your joy....when you take these things back by fighting through to the finish, it makes it all for good. You see, when we give up, the enemy wins. When we fight, although we come out of it with scars and scrapes, the Lord promises to use that for good and for His glory. That makes us more than conquerors.
Let these verses be a source of encouragement for you today....
