God said....He is always with you

Fear is best defined as false evidence appearing real. Fear is founded in untruth. If that is the case, then it makes sense that the antidote to fear is truth and truth is found in God. If truth is found in God, then the best way to drive out fear is to be immersed in God's presence. That's why God promised that He would always be with us.... therefore, we do not need to fear.

"For He has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.' So we can confidently say, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6

Scripture tells us over and over that God is everywhere and there is no where we can hide from Him or His presence. But God's omnipresence is more than just a magical power, it is a personal gift He gives to His children. There's a special sense in which God is with each of us personally as one of His children, and there is a sense in which with us also means for us.

Look at Romans 8:31 - "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Even when we are faced with the biggest fears and the darkest of circumstances, God promises that He is here for us. Actually.... the Word tells us that He actually comes to us.

Psalm 34:18 - "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

This scripture tells us that God moves toward us when we need Him most. We might not feel it at the time, it may seem like He is nowhere to be found.... but it is for that reason that God chose to write His promises down for us in His Word. That, my friend, is why it is so important for us to be in His Word daily....so we are reminded of the truth when our emotions and our circumstances try to convince us otherwise.

In my darkest, most fearful spots of life, God was right there with me. Grant it, I didn't always see Him, but I know He was there because He gave me the wisdom to make the choices that lead me out of a very deep valley. He gave the strength that kept me from wandering off the path into deepest despair.

In fact, when we need God the most, the scriptures tell us that not only is He with us... His son, Jesus, is interceding for us as well. Hebrews 7:25 says Jesus makes intercession for us. Intercede actually can mean pleading...  Can imagine how Jesus intercedes for us? What He must say? If you could hear the Lord praying for you in the next room, you would not fear a thousand enemies.

Look up John 17:13-19 and read the words Jesus prayed for you.

God promises that He is with us. If we believe that to be true, and if we know that Jesus is working on our behalf, there is no need for fear in our lives. Take a moment to write these statements down somewhere you can be reminded of them daily:

** God is for me! Proof: He gave me His Son, Jesus (Ro. 8:31-32)
** God is for me! Proof: He defends me (Ro. 8:33-34)
** God is for me! Proof: He helps me (Heb. 13:5-6
