The first part of this online series has dealt a lot with fear. I think that is important to realize. Fear is almost always the root source of our problems. Fear can leave us feeling unworthy, unwanted and without hope.
So let's review what God's promises say to us in regards to fear.
First, remember that God's promises are an assurance He gives to us so we can walk by faith while we are waiting for Him to work. It's in God's promises that we find the truth to drown out fear.
Ask yourself the following questions.... consider writing your answers in a journal.
**In what ways do I struggle with fear?
**What is the fear?
**What can God so about things I fear?
**Is that the reason I sometimes feel so far from God when I need Him most -- because I don't believe He can handle what I fear?
**In what ways do I play the "What if...." game in my mind? What if I lose my job, What if he leaves me, What if I fail....?
**Does fear ever factor into my decisions? I can't do that because what if "xyz" happens?
Think about your fears.... is there really anything there that is too hard for God?
Joshua 1:9 says, "The Lord your God is with you wherever you go," with that concept in mind, what do you have to fear?
Commit this verse to memory -- when you start to respond out of fear, pull this promise out of your heart and choose to react from God's promise.. not your fears.
Duet. 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
